My son has almost every bridge and tunnel made by Thomas, and this one rates among his favorite. He calls it the “spooky tunnel” and belly laughs each time the trains come shooting out the trap door. It is also a goof financial value since it does not cost any more than the basic ones. The only time we have had a problem with trains getting stuck is when we tried to use it with non-Thomas tracks (we have a few from the set out table came with). But with the Thomas tracks, it works fine. Just be warned that you can’t back trains in through the door because it only opens one way.

My 2-year-old is addicted to this tunnel! Unlike some of the previous reviewers, we haven’t had problems with trains not fitting through (with the exception of the Circus Train where the animals ride up high). My son is also able to have the trains go back up through the swinging door without a problem. Great with the regular wooden trains as well as battery powered. This tunnel is an excellent value for the price.

My son loves watching the trains come crashing through the tunnel trap door. But the smoke stack on the trains gets stuck in the small hole in the door. I taped a piece of brown construction paper on the inside of the door to fix the problem. |
