Here’s a video of Lionel and MTH Electric Trains Union Pacific Heritage SD70ACe’s in action around the Christmas Tree. The Union Pacific painted one locomotive in a special paint scheme for six of the railroads they bought over the years. There was a locomotive painted for the Missouri Pacific, Western Pacific, Missouri Kansas Texas, or often called the Katy, Rio Grande, Chicago and North Western, and the Southern Pacific. Both Lionel and MTH Electric Trains made models of each locomotive. Both companies, in my opinion, did an excellent job making these locomotives. Starting on the outside track are Katy and Missouri Pacific locomotives made by Lionel pulling a double stack train. The second track in has Southern Pacific and Chicago and North Western locomotives made by Lionel pulling a mixed freight. The third track has Rio Grande and Western Pacific locomotives made by MTH Electric Trains pulling a hopper train and on the inside track there is a Union Pacific locomotive made by MTH Electric Trains pulling a train of pulpwood and lumber cars. The rolling stock is made by Atlas O, Lionel, MTH, and Weaver Models. The trolley is made by Industrial Rail and has been serving this city since 2001. In this video you will see almost all of the village I set up under the Christmas Tree. What started with a gas station and school has grown into a small city over the years. The buildings are made by AmeriTown, City Seen, Department 56, K-Line, Lionel, MTH Electric Trains, Model … Video Rating: 5 / 5
On Thanksgiving, as I always do, I spent a long time operating my O scale trains on my layout to kick off the Christmas season. Also, to simulate the railroad’s huge passenger loads over the holiday, I operate mixed trains, with freight cars and passenger cars on the same train. This makes for some unusual consists and sometimes a freight locomotive will pull a passenger train, which is a lot of fun for a change. The video starts out with my Lionel Santa Fe FT pulling a freight train, and my RailKing Amtrak Genesis with a 3-car Amtrak train. Then the Amtrak train changes direction, and an extra car is added, along with one freight car tacked on the end, and my Lionel BNSF SD70ACe starts to pull a huge mixed train, with three Santa Fe passenger cars and seven O27 freight cars. Next the Polar Express is placed on the inner loop as my SD70ACe continues to operate around the outer oval, still with its three Santa Fe coaches, one O27 freight car and three scale freight cars. The video ends with my last “Thanksgiving Rush” train, a seven-car Marx train pulled by my Lionel 242 steam locomotive. Also at the same time I operate my Toy State “Nutcracker Express” train as the Polar Express sits in the yard with smoke rolling out of the Berkshire’s smokestack. Video Rating: 4 / 5

Video taken of Alan Grabsch’s magnificent Great Northern engine facilty in n-scale. Alan, from Valley N-Trak in Connecticut, joined up with other members of N-Trak clubs, including Northeast N-Trak, to create a huge layout for the public to view. The weekend of January 24-25 2009.
Here’s some video I shot of the Central Iowa Railroad Club’s HO scale train layout at the 2009 Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa. The CIRC club members let me take pictures inside the layout where they operate the trains, and I got quite a few good shots. Their layout is VERY big, perhaps the largest HO scale layout I’ve ever seen. It is quite impressive! This video features all of the trains that were operating when I went through the building, two of the most notable trains being Amtrak’s California Zephyr (as it was in the 1990’s) and a mixed freight train led by the BNSF “Barfbonnet” SD70MAC. Enjoy! Video Rating: 4 / 5
