I Purchesed this engine cause my first train set came with a engine like this but when your 8 years old and dont have money to fix stuff if it breaks well you know the story. This unit will be added to the consist of my Santa Fe Super Chief set. Great unit runs smooth.

Bachmann has become the premier middle price range HO scale producer. Reasonably detailed, good operational characteristics, this model has overly long couplers to accommodate narrow radius track curves. An alternative “close coupling” adjustment would be a great improvement as would a detail kit including separate handrails and grab irons plus diaphram. Overall a fine product for mid-market modelers.
